Figure and Face Practice
Two journal pages from my Figure and Face practice. The nude is the on the last page of my Michaelangelo sonnet recycled book. The Beefeater is sketched from a London photo and was done in my recycled Elizabeth I book.

Great sketches Shirley. I like how you got that pose in the first one. It's really difficult. And I like the way you put the WC on the second, so loose in the sky. seems to me the vest (suit?) is made of velvet!

Wow, your portraits are really coming along! I love the shading on the nude (and beautiful lines too) and the way the second portrait stands out against the paler background.

Love your nude. Live study? and the looseness of your w/c.

So graceful and softly contoured and the shading is perfect on the body and face and you do it so subtly! Just Lovely Shirley!

These are great new sketches. I'm leaving for London in a couple of months and THIS time I'll be sketching too. Love the expression on this guy's face.

These are wonderful, Shirley. All that practice is really paying off.

I like the juxtaposition of these two together. It would be fun if they were side by side. He has such a distinguished look.
