EDM Challenge #139: Draw Something with a Handle

This is a ship lantern that we purchased on Rue Jacob, Paris, in an antique store specialing in nautical objects.   Many times over the last 2 years I almost sketched it just because I like it so much and see it every day.  This challenge made it the perfect choice.  We had it hanging in our home in Texas, but it now just sits on a surface in our dining room in our New York apartment.

I love this lantern and you did a great job with your rendition. Very nice image and it must carry wonderful memories of the places it has been.

I have one similar though not as old. Brass and Copper. Yours is lovely as is your painting. It is a perfect choice for the challenge as well as an interesting one.

What a lovely lamp and you sketched it beautifully

Wow Shirley you have been busy with your art and such diversity it really sings , Fabulous entries !!

Very nice and always a pleasure to see something new posted! Thank you for all your advice on London. I don't want to miss the Turner exhbit, coffee at Caffe Nero and many other fun things!!! oh, and sketching as much as possible!!!! See ya in a month!

Shirley -- this is fabulously don e--- what a terrific job on perspective and the soft colors make it just divine!

Another gorgeous rendition. I really admire your style.

It's beautiful, Shirley, both the lantern and your sketch. There are so many interesting shops on rue Jacob---will have to check out that one next month!
