EDM Challenge #136: Draw Something Live

We took Henry and Sydney to the Central Park Zoo following the Carousel last week, arriving just in time to see the penguins being fed.  The penguin house is dark - with a climate controlled space for the penguins which means water droplets across the windows.  In addition, they move too quickly for me to draw in the dark - so these were sketched from a few of my favorite photos.

Every penguin has a numbered tag and the animal feeders have a clipboard with a long list of them. This is to insure that each of them is first fed one "special fish" that is loaded artificially with
their vitamins.

Wow Shirley, these are great studies. A moving target is so diffcult but you did good.

Love your penguins. Nice personalities and attitudes. Hmmm ... Are you taking Henry and Sydney to so many interesting places for your benefit or theirs? *lol*

Your penguins are so cute! You've used such nice colours on them, I especially like the shadings you did on their bellies. Very nice sketches!

These are great, Shirley! They have so much character. My favorite is the second from the right.

What fun these little gentlemen are and how wonderfully you've captured them and their personalities! Makes me want to get up and prance around on 'Happy Feet' I so enjoy your blog!

These are lovely! Each one has a cute and unique expression. Great work, Shirley.

How sweet! I love penguins. Can you tell? lol! Great painting and love the commentary.
