We visited friends for 3 days near Keene NH - and on the middle day drove 3 hours further north to the Shelburne Museum.  I completed one journal page/day, and even had time to piece some quilt squares for my Liberty of London quilt.

They have a beautiful view from their deck over Silver Lake.  The colors of the foliage in front, the lake water, and the mountains beyond the lake change color so frequently that it is hard to really capture the view.

The Shelburne Museum would be a fantastic place for a Sketchcrawl - so many old historical buildings buildings have been moved to the site.  My favorite was the 1871 lighthouse from Colchester Reef in Lake Champlain.  The lighthouse protected boats from 3 dangerous intersecting reefs as they sailed to Burlington with their cargo.

I sketched the clothesline over the deck as I ate breakfast the last morning we were in NH.  This is a collection of shorts and shirts from a day of fishing - from their younger family members who didn't want to make the trip to Burlington.

My daughter did a summer program at the University of Vermont years ago and my son and I visit her one week. We went to the Shelburne Museum and you are right it would be a wonderful place for a sketchcrawl. I was not sketching at the time but still enjoyed all the buildings and of course the quilts, quilts, quilts! Great sketch of the lighthouse. I love your soft colors.

these are wonderful sketches, i love all the detail on the lighthouse, the stone, the brick chimeney, the siding, well done!

I love the colors in the landscape. Very soft and muted; makes me think I'm on the deck in a hammock gazing out at the scene. I am always so impressed by your buildings and this one is no exception. My stuctures always look so lopsided! I also enjoyed the laundry drying on the deck! Glad you are having a few relaxing days! I've been busy with work and planning a party tomorrow night that I've not had time to sketch since the beach last week.

What a great trip...and great sketches...and finally your email addy worked...hallelujah:>

I've always loved drawings and paintings of clothes lines and lighthouses so it was great seeing these New England versions. Charming drawings!

The swim clothes drying on the back deck is so evocative of summer. It brought back a lot of memories. Lovely sketches!

What a beautiful view! These are wonderful sketches and memories.
