EDM #248 (Lock) and #249 (Coffee Pot)

Here are two EDM Challenges from several weeks ago.  One of my art goals for 2009 was to draw the EDM Challenges weekly, but I'm not as diligent as I was in years past.  I never did several of them, and seem to be late posting them more frequently.

Here is my husband's lock for his gym locker and I think the only "coffee pot" among many in our apartment that I haven't drawn and painted previously.  This is a one mug Melitta coffee filter - which makes an acceptable cup of filtered French Roast coffee.

Now on to #250 and 251....

Yes we have one of those one mug deals. It has been awhile since I've used it. We use Dark Roast French Roast from Trader Joe's.

Great job! I especially like the filter paper!

We must be the only two people in the world (or at least on this continent) who use Melitta filters to make coffee! [I know this isn't true...]

I once had a bunch of friends over and one offered to make coffee...until she saw my 'coffee-maker.' Then she said, "I don't know how to use one of these!"

Life does offer us humorous moments!

Nice. Is this like a New Year's Resolution?

Great sketches Shirley! I've never seen that type of coffee filter/maker thing! Looks fairly simple to use for traveling.

PS I know you like to draw people and wanted to let you know that I've found a website, http://www.drawing-tutorials-online.com/public/main.cfm , that is only 12.95/month. I've joined it for the tutorials and it seems to be very, very good. It certainly is cheaper than taking the classes where I am and no one around here has the co-op life drawing. This guy also has some you-tube videos, if you want to check him out. Matthew Archambault is his name and he offers a one dollar, seven day trial membership.

I am often late with my EDM challenges too, but it often takes me a week to figure out what I am going to do much less draw it. The thing that consoles me is that I am drawing something that challenges me as an artist, and I am learning. Lovely sketches you have done. Thanks for sharing them with us.
