Every Day in May - 6
![]()
I had a wonderful vacation day today in my own town - browsing at the Housingworks Bookstore and Cafe and The Strand for $1.00 books to recycle as watercolor journals and buying a few art supplies at Dick Blicks Store in Greenwich Village.
I had lunch across from the Strand so I could sketch a cropped view of the front corner entrance.

Very nicely done! I have been to that bookstore years ago and am glad to see it is still there and as wonderful as ever.

I like how you crop it with your hands, and you maintain so much of the details, plus the words on the sides works really nicely here. It's both creative and beautiful!

Nice building.I like the way you have just drawn a bit of the building and the big red signs. I am reliving my New York holiday through your drawings - I spent a week there last year exploring and drawing.
AND I have also often chosen my lunch cafe for the view, and not the food. (unless I am choosing it to draw the food)

Nice sketch of a favorite place. Love the Strand. Used to find such bargains there when I lived in Tribeca.
