Every Day in May 18
We met our son and grandson at the Toy Boat Pond this morning in Central Park and I had time to sketch and paint this lamp post while waiting for them to arrive. I actually sketched one of the Park lamp posts once before, but didn't have a bench perfectly positioned to see a symmetrical globe and cover. There was sun when we arrived but the clouds rolled in over the next hour and it is again raining!

Oh Shirley, your sketch brings back such memories: I dearly love those lamps. Wonderfully done!

Wonderful job, Shirley. I like the subtle shadow on the back of the sign - it adds depth to the sketch.

Living in the countryside here in East Anglia, it sounds so up market to me to be visiting places in the great city of New York - Central Park,Manhattan, etc. Liked the notations beside the great pen and wash lamp post. Trolled through earlier postings and envious you were able to see the Goya sketches - you did a wonderful clean sketch of the soldier.
